It's A Small World

Was early for work again and there were only 2 students for my Student Care group as a few of them had NAPFA test while others have remedial in school. More students were present for my Maths tuition class. Had a better control of the class as I was able to call out the names of the more mischievous ones. Though it was only the second day, I was already able to tell who are those who would need extra help with their learning and who are the independent learners.

After work, decided to pay my mother a visit, not having seen her for quite a while. Took a train down to Bishan where I used to live just a few blocks away from hers. Only she and my niece were around and chatted with the former over dinner. Shared some general information on our well-being and was glad that everybody is doing well. Then I mentioned about going to a carnival at a secondary school this coming Saturday and my niece who happened to come into the kitchen said that her school was having one too. It was then that I realised that she is a student of Presbyterian High and not Kuo Chuan Presbyterian where I thought she was at all along. What's more surprising is that she is in One Faith, the same class as the other Alicia that I know - Alicia Pan, that is. It's indeed a small world, to imagine that she is actually a classmate and schoolmate of my kids from SPS. And to think that I didn't realise it until today, what a blunder. But actually it isn't hard to understand why that is so as I hardly visit them ever since I moved out of Bishan. Moreover, my niece wasn't around (probably out going after her idols) during the few occasions when I do visit my mother.

Anyway, was glad that she is acquainted with my SPS kids and thus sharing another thing in common. Look forward to seeing her and my SPS kids again at their school on Saturday and hopefully we can have a wonderful time together.
